Grumman E-2D Advanced Hawkeye STL 3D Print Model

The Grumman E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is the latest evolution of the US Navy’s carrier-based airborne early warning aircraft, featuring its iconic rotating radar rotodome, twin turboprop engines with 8-blade propellers, and folding tail assembly. This highly detailed multi-part STL kit is designed for both static display modeling and RC-capable builds, with an integrated battery compartment hidden behind a fuselage access door and mounting provisions for 2212 brushless motors. Available in 1:48 and 1:72 scales, the model breaks down into logical sub-assemblies including wings, tail unit, engine nacelles with landing gear, propellers, and the rotodome disc. Files are print-tested in both PLA (FDM) and SLA resin, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

Print settings

FDM printing is recommended for structural parts (fuselage, wings) using PLA or PETG at 0.15–0.2 mm layer height with 20–30% infill; resin (SLA/MSLA) is strongly recommended for fine-detail parts such as the landing gear, propellers, and rotodome support struts. Print wings and fuselage sections flat or at a slight angle with supports on overhangs; the rotodome disc prints best face-down. For the RC version, dry-fit all sections before gluing to verify motor shaft alignment in the engine nacelles. Use thin rope or thread for the antenna cables connecting the rotodome to the tail, as indicated in the assembly notes.
