Description
The UIC-Z sleeping car is a classic European long-distance passenger coach widely used by national railways across the continent. This highly detailed 3D model features a full open-platform vestibule end, bogies with brake rigging, roof ventilation strips, and two variants: one with open window cutouts and one with closed panels for windowed/lights rendering. Ideal for N, HO or O scale dioramas, model railway layouts, and tabletop scenes. Supplied as STL files ready for FDM or resin printing.
Print settings
Resin printing (MSLA/DLP) is strongly recommended for the fine bogie, coupling, and vestibule details. Orient the car body horizontally with the underframe facing up to minimise supports on visible surfaces. FDM printing is viable for the shell at 0.1–0.15 mm layer height with 15–20 % infill; print bogies separately at higher resolution. Light supports will be needed around the vestibule canopy and coupling gear.
