Description

The auto carrier railroad car is a fully detailed enclosed bi-level automobile transport freight car, typical of North American railroad operations from the mid-20th century onward. This highly detailed 3D model features corrugated side panels, riveted end walls, roof ribs, brake equipment, ladders, and faithful bogie/truck assemblies. Ideal for model railroad dioramas, tabletop layouts, and display prints at HO, O, or custom scales. Supplied as a ready-to-print STL file in the Auto-Carrier-Railroad-Car.zip archive.

Print settings

FDM printing is recommended for larger display scales; resin printing is preferred for fine detail reproduction of rivets, corrugations, and brake gear. Print the main body horizontally on its flat underframe to minimize supports; end walls and ladders may require minimal tree supports. Use 15–20% infill for the car body and 40–50% for smaller structural parts. PLA or PETG works well for the body shell; ABS or resin for fine detail components.
