Description
The Caterpillar 621 is a large self-propelled elevating scraper used in earthmoving and road reclamation operations. This highly detailed 3D model captures the iconic louvered engine hood, articulated frame, four-wheel drive axle layout, elevator conveyor assembly, and all hydraulic lines and ladders. Available in two versions — open cab and windowed/lights — it is ideal for scale display models, dioramas, and collector prints. Supplied as STL files ready for slicing.
Print settings
FDM printing is recommended at 0.1–0.15 mm layer height using PLA or PETG for structural parts. The elevator assembly, hydraulic arms, and cab roof benefit from supports; orient the main chassis flat on the bed to minimise bridging. Print the wheels and tyres separately at 20–30% infill with a perimeter count of at least 4 for good tread detail. Resin printing is suitable for the smaller detail parts such as chains, mirrors, and hydraulic fittings.
