Print settings
FDM printing is recommended using PLA or PETG for structural parts; resin (MSLA/SLA) will yield superior surface detail on piston crowns and con-rod geometry. Print pistons vertically with supports on the underside of the crown; con-rods may benefit from a 45° orientation to minimize supports on the big-end bore. Suggested infill 20–30% for display use; increase to 40%+ for handled models. Light sanding and metallic primer spray will dramatically enhance the cast-iron appearance seen in the reference image.
