Volkswagen Beetle 1200 Sunroof 1963 STL 3D Print Model

The Volkswagen Beetle 1200 Sunroof is the iconic 1963 Type 1 economy car, faithfully recreated as a highly detailed 3D model with full exterior bodywork, period-correct bumpers, hubcaps, and a richly modeled interior featuring steering wheel, dashboard, and seats. Two model versions are included — one with solid body panels and one with transparent windows and light housings — making it versatile for display builds and diorama use. The model is provided in STL format, ready for FDM or resin 3D printing at any scale. Multiple orthographic renders from all angles, including top-down and interior close-up views, are included to aid assembly and painting reference.

Print settings

FDM printing is recommended for larger display scales (1:24 or bigger), while resin printing is ideal for capturing fine surface details such as the hood ribs, window seals, and bumper guards at smaller scales (1:43 or 1:64). Print the body shell upright or at a slight rear-down angle to minimize support scarring on visible surfaces; supports are needed under the fenders, bumpers, and door sills. An infill of 15–20% is sufficient for display pieces; use 0.1–0.2 mm layer height for best surface quality. PLA or ABS work well for the exterior; ABS or resin is preferred for the delicate bumper overriders and exhaust tips.
