Description
The Sandvik LH517i is a large underground hard rock loader (LHD) used in deep mining operations, featuring an articulated frame, four massive off-road tires, a high-capacity rock bucket, enclosed ROPS/FOPS cabin with roof safety rails, and detailed engine/hydraulic rear section. This highly detailed 3D model captures every mechanical element including the bucket cutting edge, hydraulic arms, axle housings, and ventilation grilles, making it ideal for scale display models, mining industry dioramas, or engineering visualization. Supplied as ready-to-print STL files in two versions: standard and windowed/lights variant. Recommended print scale is 1:50 or 1:35 for tabletop display.
Print settings
FDM printing is recommended for most parts using PLA or PETG at 0.1–0.15 mm layer height for maximum surface detail. Print the main body and rear engine section upright; lay the bucket flat or at a slight angle to minimize unsupported overhangs. Supports are required under the bucket arms, hydraulic cylinders, and roof safety rail structures. An infill of 20–30% is sufficient for display pieces; increase to 40%+ if structural assembly is intended.
